Will I Be Third Time Lucky Mary Moraas Fingers Crossed Ahead Of Diamond League Final In Brussels

'Will I be third time lucky?'- Mary Moraa's fingers crossed ahead of Diamond League final in Brussels

Moraa is eager to end a frustrating season with a win

Mary Moraa has her fingers crossed that her third time will be the charm when she lines up for the women's 800m final at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels on Friday. The Kenyan has twice finished second in the Diamond League this season, behind Great Britain's Keely Hodgkinson, and will be hoping to go one better in the Belgian capital.

Moraa has been in good form this season, setting a personal best of 1:57.08 at the Kenyan Championships in June. She has also won silver medals at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games. However, she has yet to win a Diamond League title and will be determined to put that right in Brussels.

Moraa knows she needs to be at her best to beat Hodgkinson

Moraa knows that she will need to be at her best to beat Hodgkinson, who has been in scintillating form this season. The Briton has won six Diamond League titles and set a world-leading time of 1:57.20. Moraa will need to run a personal best to beat Hodgkinson, but she is confident that she can do it.

"I know I need to be at my best to beat Keely," said Moraa. "But I'm confident that I can do it. I've been training hard and I'm ready to give it my all."
